FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to require the Department of Transportation to utilize native
plants on new or remodeled state properties at rest areas as landscape.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That the code be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:

The Department of Transportation shall utilize native plants as landscape on any new or
remodeled state properties at rest areas if it is practical and prudent to do so.
