A JOINT RESOLUTION, Proposing and submitting to the voters at the next general election
an amendment to the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, relating to amendments to
the Constitution.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN:
Section 1. That at the next general election held in the state, the following amendment to Article XXIII, section 3 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, as set forth in section 2 of this Joint Resolution, which is hereby agreed to, shall be submitted to the electors of the state for approval.
Section 2. That Article XXIII, section 3 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, be amended to read as follows:
§ 3. Any constitutional amendment or revision must be submitted to the voters and shall become a part of the Constitution only when approved by a majority of the votes castthereon
on the amendment or revision, and approved by the Legislature. The Legislature may provide

Section 2. That Article XXIII, section 3 of the Constitution of the State of South Dakota, be amended to read as follows:
§ 3. Any constitutional amendment or revision must be submitted to the voters and shall become a part of the Constitution only when approved by a majority of the votes cast
for the withdrawal by its sponsors of an initiated amendment at any time prior to its submission to the voters.
