The following prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Rev. Sam Handschke.
Lord God, you have walked alongside these Senators throughout this session. In the longer days and in the shorter days, you have been their rock and the source of their strength. Make their work a blessing to the people of this state. Help these Senators to see the impact of their words and decisions in the lives of the people. As they put this work behind them and return to their families and communities, grant them safe travel and a joyful homecoming. May this chamber rest quietly until the next time that you call these Senators to work for the benefit of your people. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Sen. Foster moved that the Senate do now adjourn sine die in accordance with Article III, Section 16 of the South Dakota Constitution, which motion prevailed, and at 3:14 p.m. the Senate adjourned.
