A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054.

WHEREAS, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1054 had many accomplishments throughout the year, including providing twenty-seven thousand dollars to veterans in need, one thousand to the Salvation Army, distributed over seven thousand flags on Flag Day, and conducted a flag ceremony honoring healthcare workers; and

WHEREAS, the chapter is the twelfth largest of the six hundred and fifty active chapters in the United States, with more than five hundred veteran members and over seventy associative members; and

WHEREAS, the chapter was also recognized by the South Dakota Hall of Fame with an Act of Excellence Award:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Seventh Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature honors and congratulates Chapter 1054 of the Vietnam Veterans of America for being nationally recognized as chapter of the year.
