A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, to honor and remember the life of Brandon Valley High School teacher, coach, father, and husband, Chad Garrow.
WHEREAS, Chad Garrow, one of the greatest leaders in South Dakota high school football history, passed away tragically from a thirteen-month battle with Glioblastoma; and
WHEREAS, Coach Garrow went 131-47 over his coaching career, won two state championships, and had three state tournament runner-up finishes over sixteen seasons, making him the winningest coach in Brandon Valley football history; and
WHEREAS, Coach Garrow also coached the Brandon Valley track and field team and was a standout teacher at Brandon Valley High School:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Seventh Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that the Legislature honors and remembers the life of Chad Garrow for his dedication to his students and student-athletes’ successes, on and off the field of play, and extends its gratitude and condolences to his family.
