A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Recognizing and honoring the great achievement of Chase Hanson, who won the 2022 South Dakota State Class B boys wrestling championship in the 120 pound weight class, and his teammates from Stanley County High School.

WHEREAS, on Thursday, February 24, the South Dakota State Wrestling Tournament commenced with students convening from across the state to compete for top spots on the podium; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hanson, a junior from Stanley County High School, showed tremendous success throughout the 2021-2022 season with multiple first, second, and third place wins throughout various tournaments; and

WHEREAS, Stanley County High School had a fantastic showing at the South Dakota State Boys Wrestling Tournament with Colton Brady and Levi Stover qualifying alongside Chase Hanson, with Stover placing seventh; and

WHEREAS, Chase Hanson reigned victorious over his competitors as he advanced through the tournament, meeting Kellan Hurd of Miller/Highmore-Harrold in the championship round. The Stanley County Buffaloes were assisted in their achievements by their dedicated leader, Coach Clayton Wahlstorm; and

WHEREAS, Chase's hard work and dedication proved fruitful as he handily defeated his opponents on his way to winning his final match at the South Dakota State Boys Wrestling Tournament and becoming a champion:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Seventh Legislature of the State of South Dakota, that Chase Hanson and his Stanley County High School wrestling teammates be acknowledged for their victories in qualifying for the South Dakota State Wrestling Tournament and for Chase's championship victory.
