A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION, Commending and honoring the University of South
Dakota Women's Volleyball Team for their outstanding athletic performance upon winning the
2018 Summit League Tournament Championship.
WHEREAS, the team won the match by a score of three sets to two sets ending the Denver
Pioneer's twenty-five game winning streak and run of four straight tournament titles; and
WHEREAS, the University of South Dakota's senior middle blocker, Taylor Wilson, posted a
career high twenty-four kills, and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player; and
WHEREAS, head coach Leanne Williamson helped facilitate and cultivate the physical, mental,
and emotional growth and development of her student-athletes while leading the successful season
in her fourth year as head coach:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the Ninety-Fourth Legislature of the State
of South Dakota, that the University of South Dakota Women's Volleyball Team be commended and
honored for their patience, dedication, and tenacity, and most of all, for their accomplishments in
winning the 2018 Summit League Tournament Championship.
