FOR AN ACT ENTITLED, An Act to allow a candidate for legislative or county office to be
considered for nomination to statewide office.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA:
Section 1. That § 12-6-3 be amended to read:
12-6-3. Noperson person's name may be appear on the primary election ballot as a candidate
for nomination or election to more than one public office except for the office of President of
the United States or vice president of the United States. However, a A candidate for any such
office is not prohibited from being elected to any seeking nomination to one or more party
offices as may be provided in chapter 12-5.
Section 2. That the code be amended by adding a NEW SECTION to read:
